Example BSD tunnel configuration

Here is a snippet from my /etc/rc.local file that I use to establish the tunnel at startup with Hurricane Electric:

# Establish IPv6
/sbin/ifconfig gif0 create
/sbin/ifconfig gif0 tunnel <local IPv4 address of my server> <HE tunnel endpoint IPv4 address>
/sbin/ifconfig gif0 inet6 <local IPv6 address of my server> <HE IPv6 address> prefixlen 128
/sbin/route -n add -inet6 default <HE IPv6 address>
/sbin/ifconfig gif0 up
/sbin/ifconfig fxp0 inet6 <IPv6 address from routed subnet> prefixlen 64 alias
